Dozens of paintings, prints, sculptures and other forms of art from China are displayed at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome to celebrate the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations.
The exhibition Contemporary Art of China will run until Feb 26, gathering selected award-winning works from last year's 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts. Organized by the China Artists Association, it highlights the developments in the arts created by homegrown professionals.
Contemporary Art of China is also part of this year's China Today, which was launched by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles in 2004 to promote Chinese art and culture abroad, and has been held in 23 countries and regions thus far.
Each year, China Today brings exhibitions, performances and other forms of cultural exchanges to different countries with this year's held in Rome and Milan, and Egypt's Cairo and Alexandria.
