China and the Republic of the Congo will enhance coordination and prepare for the coordinators' meeting on the implementation of the follow-up actions of the ministerial conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation so as to drive cooperation between China and Africa.

The pledge was reaffirmed when Foreign Minister Wang Yi met on Friday Jean-Claude Gakosso, foreign minister of the Republic of the Congo, in Beijing.

Last year, the Republic of the Congo assumed the role of the African co-chair of the FOCAC, which Wang described as the most important platform for China and the continent to strengthen solidarity and mutual support and achieve common development.

Wang expressed China's willingness to work together with the Republic of the Congo to actively implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the FOCAC, particularly the 10 partnership actions, to promote the high-quality development of China-Africa cooperation and send more positive signals to the world.

Faced with an international situation full of changes and turmoil, Wang underlined the need for China and African countries to unite and cooperate more closely to safeguard the common interests of developing countries and promote world peace, stability and development.

Gakosso said that China is a sincere friend and partner of all African countries and his country is ready to work closely with Beijing to achieve more results in Africa-China cooperation, such as preparing for the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.

He also expressed the belief that China, as an ancient civilization, has the wisdom to find solutions to the problems facing the world and play a more significant role in peace and stability in Africa.
