As announced by the Ministry of Public Security on Friday, 2,255 Chinese nationals suspected of telecommunications fraud in Myanmar's Myawaddy region were brought back recently, bringing the total number to 2,876.
All the suspects had been sent to Thailand by Myanmar before Chinese police escorted them to China on chartered flights, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
Police in China, Myanmar and Thailand have boosted law enforcement cooperation to root out telecom fraud dens in Myawaddy this year.
As a result of the cooperation, Chinese police escorted back the first 200 Chinese suspects on Feb 20.
The ministry said the Chinese police will further step up efforts to promote international law enforcement cooperation to dismantle the dens and hunt down the suspects.
It also urged the perpetrators to return to China and turn themselves in as soon as possible.
