The Sui ethnic culture of Guizhou province was showcased in Paris recently as part of the 2025 Happy Chinese Spring Festival event. Hosted by the China National Tourist Office and La Samaritaine, the event promoted Chinese intangible cultural heritage during Chinese New Year.
In front of the Arc de Triomphe on Champs-Élysées Avenue, performers dressed in ethnic costumes showcased Guizhou's ethnic songs, dances and calligraphy, gorgeous Sui ethnic costumes, the mysterious ethnic script called shuishu and uniquely shaped silver jewelry.
"The Sui ethnic culture of Guizhou left a very beautiful Chinese image at the La Samaritaine. I would love to travel to Guizhou if given the opportunity," said Michel, a volunteer at the event.
