Multinational medical companies reached collaborations with local healthcare authorities, hospitals and businesses at the ongoing 7th China International Import Expo held in Shanghai to jointly build an innovative healthcare ecosystem for the country by playing up their respective advantages.
Sanofi China and the Maternal and Child Health Center of the National Health Commission signed a strategic cooperation memorandum on disease prevention and health promotion for children.
The two sides will jointly promote disease management capacity regarding common pediatric diseases, and respiratory diseases in particular. They will also jointly promote the standardized prevention and treatment of key pediatric diseases and the application of appropriate technologies.
This collaboration came after Nirsevimab injection, the world’s first broadly protective option against RSV designed for infants, was approved for marketing in China in December. Several regions of the country have rolled out the injection for infants.
Novartis China and Beijing Anzhen Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University signed a strategic cooperation memorandum during the CIIE. The two sides will push forward comprehensive cooperation in clinical research and academic exchanges related to cardiovascular diseases, a leading cause of death among Chinese. Both parties have an edge in this disease area.
Intuitive Fosun and Siemens Healthineers announced a collaboration during the CIIE on Wednesday. Through the collaboration, Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy by Intuitive Fosun and Cios Spin CBCT system by Siemens Healthineers have realized collaborative work, which streamlines clinical workflows and improves the accuracy of biopsies. This can help with early diagnosis and treatment of lung nodules and early-stage lung cancer.
Over at the booth Bayer, Bayer Consumer Health, Jiangnan University in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province, and Wecare-Probiotics, a local enterprise from Suzhou, Jiangsu, jointly held a celebration ceremony, announcing that IberoBiotics, a probiotic product for intestinal health jointly developed and produced by the three parties, has been marketed in Singapore this year. They also announced a plan for the product to go overseas to more ASEAN countries in the future.
This probiotic product was a result of a collaboration that the three parties reached during the 2020 CIIE to jointly conduct clinical trials and create new probiotic solutions.
