Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday that China and the United Kingdom have not yet discussed any specific dates or arrangements for a possible visit by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Guo made the remarks in response to media reports claiming that Starmer is expected to visit Beijing and Shanghai from Jan 29 to 31.
He said China attaches importance to improving and developing China-UK relations, and is ready to strengthen exchanges and communication at various levels.
"As far as I know, the Chinese side has not yet discussed specific issues such as the dates of Prime Minister Starmer's visit to China with the UK side," Guo said at a regular news briefing in Beijing.
