Chinese and Swiss companies signed three new investment agreements at the China-Swiss Companies Investment Cooperation Exchange, highlighting the enduring partnership between the two countries as they celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The event, jointly organized by the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau and Cedrus Group, a Swiss international financial group, was successfully held in Chaoyang district, Beijing on Monday.

Focusing on fostering investment and collaboration in the fields of life sciences and biomedicine, the exchange attracted over 80 enterprises from the two countries, including over 20 top Swiss biomedical companies, all eager to explore opportunities in research and development, market expansion and production in Beijing.

The exchange culminated in three agreements being signed between participating companies and Cedrus. These partnerships will foster cross-border growth as Beijing Dachao Biotechnology Co Ltd, a Chinese company, will invest and pursue market expansion in Switzerland, while Swiss companies Orexa and Kadence Bio will establish operations in Beijing.

On the capital-raising and investment front, the event garnered strong interest from Chinese local institutions. In response to robust demand for meetings with leading overseas life sciences and biopharmaceutical companies, Cedrus arranged 82 one-on-one fundraising meetings between Swiss biomedical companies and Chinese investors over the two days following the event.

During the event, officials from Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Beijing Municipal Medical Products Administration shared the latest biopharmaceutical policies that support research and development, clinical trials and manufacturing. In addition, officials from Chaoyang district, Mentougou district and Zhongguancun Science City introduced their specialized industry parks. The event also featured informative presentations from both Chinese and Swiss companies.

Founded in 2001, Cedrus is a global private investment bank specializing in investment management and financial advisory services. Operating in China since 2009, Cedrus has established a strong local presence and network, facilitating successful market entry and enhanced monetization pathways for foreign life sciences firms. With its Swiss heritage and deep-rooted ties to the life sciences sector, Cedrus also helps Eastern partners seamlessly access and invest in Western markets.

Moving forward, Cedrus will continue to serve as a bridge between Chinese and Swiss companies, promoting both inbound and outbound investment.
