On Feb 18, a lively and engaging safety lesson on electricity use was held in Class 3, Grade 4 at the Second Experimental Primary School in Shuyang county, Suqian, Jiangsu province. The State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company organized the "Big Hands Holding Small Hands, Safely Nurturing Young Hearts" electricity-themed activity in collaboration with the school. This initiative aimed to enhance campus electricity safety management, raise awareness among teachers and students, and foster a safe electricity usage environment. Through interactive classes and experiments, the activity provided over 100 students with a lively and practical lesson on safe electricity usage, thereby bolstering teenagers' awareness of safe electricity usage and self-protection skills.
In the classroom, Sun Yuanlin, a power safety lecturer, utilized animation videos and cartoon display boards to explain, in plain and easy-to-understand language, topics such as hidden dangers of home electricity use and how to avoid risks associated with outdoor power facilities. To enhance student engagement, they designed interactive experiments like the "simulated electric shock experience instrument" and "circuit maze challenge".
Through hands-on activities, students could intuitively experience the characteristics of electricity and learn proper electricity usage techniques. During the prize-winning question and answer session, the children eagerly raised their hands to participate, creating a lively atmosphere. "I've learned that electricity can be both dangerous and fascinating. When I get home, I'll remind my parents to regularly check the electrical outlets!" Zhang Bowen, a fifth grader from the school, said excitedly.
