At Boko Medical Industrial Park in Juancheng county, Shandong province, company leader Li Hang is ambitious of its new business this year.
"Based on domestic and foreign market trends, we have launched smooth cooperation with domestic markets such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as foreign economies including the United States and Europe," he said, adding that "We have added many new customers, and our sales value can jump by 25 percent to 30 percent this year."
He was speaking to Sun Fuchuan, government chief of Fenghuang town, and Wang Dianjiang, chairman of the Fenghuang Town People's Congress, who came on Feb 18 to check the operation of the enterprise, seeking whether any help is needed.
Sun and Wang act as "enterprise secretaries" who can offer timely services to their targeted enterprises in the town, which has introduced the measure to help bolster the progress of local firms.
"We resumed our production on the seventh day of the lunar New Year following the Spring Festival holiday, and the current attendance rate of our 200-odd employees is 95 percent. The remaining ones are expected to return to work in the next two days," Li said.
At the start of the Chinese New Year, these "enterprise secretaries" in Fenghuang town rushed to local workshops to learn about last year's production and operation conditions, the New Year's development plan, and the difficulties lying before them.
The production workshop of Zhen Man Guan Food Co Ltd was filled with a fragrant aroma and a lively scene, as employees were busy in their respective work positions on Feb 18.
Xu Longcheng, who is in charge of workshop management at the company, accompanied Wang Hang, deputy government head of the town and also an "enterprise secretary", in her tour of the firm, learning about its operations.
"At present, all our employees have returned to their work because this year's orders have been scheduled for July, and we still need more staffers," Xu told her.
Upon hearing its job vacancy, Wang quickly coordinated with the town's related office to publicize the company's recruitment news, providing her assistance.
It has been learned that as of now, the work resumption rate of the 35 industrial enterprises in the town, which have an annual sales volume of at least 20 million yuan ($2.81 million) each, has reached 95 percent.
Juancheng, which is under the jurisdiction of the prefecture-level city of Heze, administers two sub-districts and 15 towns with a total population of over 923,000, and the county's regional GDP reached some 31 billion yuan in 2024, a rise of 6.5 percent year-on-year.
