The 2024 Development Report of Chinese Enterprises in Italy was launched in Milan, Italy on Dec 20, with around 150 participants, including representatives from Chinese and Italian companies and business associations in attendance.
The report, the first industry report to be released by the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy since its establishment in 2021, provides a comprehensive overview of the current development status and future trends of Chinese enterprises in Italy and offers valuable insights for further promoting cooperation between the governments and institutions of China and Italy in the economic and trade sectors.

The report was created after an in-depth survey of 92 member companies through a questionnaire, said Yan Dong, president of the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy.
Chinese-invested companies in Italy are currently running smoothly and making important contributions to Italy's revenue, job situation, and taxes, Yan said.
The report shows that more than 65 percent of companies surveyed consider Italy a key market, citing advantages in social and cultural factors, as well as in the job market.
More than half of the companies surveyed plan to increase their workforce in Italy during the next three years. And more than a third intend to invest further in their existing businesses.
At the same time, the report reveals that many Chinese-invested enterprises view protectionism as the biggest challenge and difficulty they face in Italy.
Yan outlined his expectation for a further deepening of the friendly cooperation between China and Italy, and for the countries to jointly create new opportunities for both sides.
