As the push for "dual-carbon" goals intensifies, accurate carbon emission measurement has become essential for green, low-carbon development. Traditional accounting methods often suffer from data delays and inaccuracies, making real-time monitoring a key focus for innovation.

Recently, the State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company installed the first batch of electric carbon meters in Haining, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, marking a breakthrough in carbon emission tracking. These meters collect and calculate regional electricity-related carbon data, providing a reliable foundation for emission monitoring.

The first electric carbon meter in Jiaxing was installed at Zhejiang Jiali Dyeing and Clothing Co, Ltd, serving as a "carbon emission monitor". It records real-time electricity usage and emissions, uploading data to the Carbon Measurement Monitoring App in the Electricity Information Collection System 2.0. This ensures precise tracking and supports the company's carbon management efforts.

Electric carbon meters address carbon accounting needs across the power system—spanning sources, networks and loads. They collect usage data from multiple points, calculate real-time emission factors, and transmit the results dynamically. This transforms broad carbon accounting to precise, data-driven measurement.

"Previously, our carbon emissions were just estimates. Now, the electric carbon meter provides accurate, transparent data, giving us a scientific basis for energy-saving and emission reduction," said a company representative.

Moving forward, the State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company plans to enhance data analysis, optimize grid dispatch, expand meter applications, and further promote green, low-carbon development.
