KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday that he had agreed to an energy and infrastructure ceasefire during a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
"One of the first steps toward fully ending the conflict could be ending strikes on energy and other civilian infrastructure. I supported this step, and Ukraine confirmed that we are ready to implement it," he wrote on social media platform X.
Zelensky informed that he and Trump instructed Ukrainian and US teams to resolve technical issues related to implementing and expanding the partial ceasefire.
Ukrainian and US teams are ready to meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to continue coordinating steps toward peace, he added.
Zelensky also said his talks with Trump covered the battlefield situation, the state of Ukraine's air defense, and the release of the captives, among other topics.
