The 2024 Tianjin Wudadao Forum was held on Tuesday in Tianjin, attracting diplomats and officials from global think tanks, participants said.
Luan Jianzhang, director-general of Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Tianjin, said the Wudadao, or the Five Greater Avenues, serve not only as geographical symbols reflecting architectural diversity but also as ideological and cultural symbols embodying diversities of civilization.
He noted the significance of holding such a forum, saying that the Wudadao carry rich connotations, symbolizing the comprehensive deepening of reform led by innovative, coordinated, green, open, and shared development concepts.

Echoing Luan, Patrick Nijs, former Belgian ambassador to China and co-founder of Europe China Joint Innovation Center (Beijing-Brussels), expected the forum to further boost global collaboration.
"With the assistance of experts and scholars, it is hoped that the Wudadao Forum will be developed into a Tianjin-branded forum for intellectual exchange and cultural integration, serving to advance the construction of a community of shared future for mankind," Luan said.

Patrick Herminie, Party president of United Seychelles and former speaker of Seychelles National Assembly, said: "China's modernization serves as an example of what is possible when vision, resilience, and inclusive development are pursued together in a spirit of cooperation. In the past decades, China has inspired the world community in addition to changing its own society. This journey is characterized by millions of people being pulled out of poverty, advances in science and technology, and a dedication t environmental sustainability."
He hoped his country could learn more experience from China. During the forum, Tianjin City Internationalization Expert Advisory Committee was inaugurated.
