Recently, the evaluation results of the high-quality power transmission and transformation projects for the State Grid Corporation of China in 2024 were announced. The Lyuyuan-Zhangyi 110 kV Line Project constructed by State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Co Ltd Guyuan Branch was honored as a high-quality project of State Grid Corporation of China, achieving a historic breakthrough in winning the "Quality Power Transmission and Transformation Project of State Grid Corporation of China" for the first time.
The Lyuyuan-Zhangyi 110 kV Line Project passes through the hinterland of the Liupan Mountains in Guyuan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region. The project starts from the Lyuyuan 330 kV Substation and ends at the Zhangyi 110 kV Substation. The altitude along the line ranges from 1,950 meters to 2,800 meters. The total investment of the project is 42.2 million yuan. The total length of the line is 53 kilometers, and 134 new iron towers have been built. The project started construction on June 30, 2021, and was connected to the grid and put into operation on Sept 7, 2023.
The Lyuyuan-Zhangyi 110 kV Line Project is the infrastructure project with the highest altitude and the most complicated construction in the company's history. Along the line, the terrain is steep with many perilous peaks standing upright. The soil layers are mainly composed of angular gravel, rocks and sandy mudstone.
In order to overcome construction difficulties and improve the engineering technical level, the company has vigorously carried out innovation and efficiency creation, empowering engineering construction throughout the whole process of scientific and technological innovation. During the foundation implementation stage of the project, a detachable hole digger was used for foundation operations for the first time, which effectively reduced the construction safety risks and solved the problem that it was difficult to conduct mechanized construction for the iron tower foundations in mountainous areas. During the tower assembly stage, by drawing on the design advantages of the internal suspension gin pole hoisting method and the integral erection method of the floor-standing double boom gin pole, the company actively carried out the research, development and application work of the floor-standing light-duty tower assembly short-boom gin pole, effectively solving the problem of erecting iron towers of 110 kV and below in areas with restricted terrain. During the wire stringing stage, the centralized control intelligent visual tensioner and stringing machine stringing construction method was promoted and applied, realizing the panoramic detection of the tensioning and stringing channels, corridors and the airspace of transmission lines, and effectively improving the overall efficiency of conductor and ground wire stringing as well as the level of safety control. Innovation and efficiency creation have empowered and enhanced the efficiency of the high-quality construction of the line, achieving a 100 percent mechanization rate for the construction of undisturbed soil foundations along the whole line, a 100 percent mechanization utilization rate for the erection of iron towers, and a 100 percent tension stringing rate.
Next, State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Co Ltd Guyuan Branch will, based on summarizing the typical experience of the Lyuyuan-Zhangyi 110 kV Line Project, continuously carry out the three-year special campaign of "Six Precisions and Four Modernizations" for infrastructure construction centering on the key measures for engineering quality construction.
