国家一级重点保护野生动物布氏鲸是一种体型较大的海洋哺乳动物，体长10到13米，体重可达10至15吨。布氏鲸的存在对整个海洋生态系统有着重要的滋养作用。
日前，在广西壮族自治区北海市涠洲岛附近海域的监测显示，2023年布氏鲸栖息数量已接近60头，这个数字比之前的记录有所增加，也证明了涠洲岛附近海域的生态环境日趋变好。
