In Xi'an, Shaanxi province, cleaning crews used to start work as early as 3 am to clear floating rubbish from the city's lakes and rivers. Now, a self-driving cleaning boat is taking some of the burden from the workers' shoulders.
The boat sets off on cleaning duty at midnight, its 15-meter-wide arm gathering surface waste from the water, before heading back to one of charging stations by the shore.
