Beijing's Fourth Ring Road will become the world's longest rose-decorated ring road by November this year, the city's parks and forestry bureau said on Thursday.

Stretching for 65.3 kilometers, the floral belt will eventually feature about 713,000 rose bushes of various varieties along the entire ring road. The rose is one of Beijing's official city flowers.

Greening and landscaping projects in the sections located in Haidian and Chaoyang districts have already been completed, covering the western, northern and eastern parts of the Fourth Ring Road.

According to the bureau, site-specific landscaping measures have increased the annual blooming volume along the route by 50 percent, enhancing both the density and overall visual effect of the flowers.
