China's job market remained stable in 2025, with the surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas averaging 5.2 percent for the year, according to the latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics released on Monday.
In December, the surveyed urban unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, a figure that was consistent in 31 major Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
The NBS reported that the population of migrant workers in 2025 totaled about 301.15 million, an increase of 1.42 million or 0.5 percent from the previous year.
