The ancient Yangguan Pass, a Silk Road trade hub during the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), has been transformed into an immersive educational experience at the Yangguan-Yumen Pass Tourist Area in Dunhuang city, Gansu province.

This year, students taking part in the program can barter with actors playing merchants, use replica Han-era coins to buy goods, and participate in simulated market patrols to catch thieves, activities designed to build legal awareness and teamwork skills, according to the organizers.

Organizers say the course brings museum exhibits and ancient texts to life, turning cultural knowledge into hands-on learning and a deepened understanding of history through experience.
