At the 2025 China International Fashion Week, youths from the Miao and Dong ethnic groups in Guizhou province showcased the vibrant spirit of their ethnic cultures.
Fashion designer Yang Chunlin brought the rustic charm of Southwest China to Beijing, inspired by the renowned Cun T, a rural fashion show in Kaili featuring traditional ethnic costumes.

Forty-five local Miao and Dong youths graced the runway wearing traditional costumes. Even a 70-year-old Miao grandfather, Gu Biao, carried a wooden plow as he accompanied his granddaughter on the stage.
"We prepared extensively by showcasing Miao silver jewelry, batik techniques and farming tools on an international stage. By preserving the authentic essence of our intangible cultural heritage and sharing stories of family histories and rural life, we hoped to make cultural preservation both heartfelt and impactful," said Yang.

"I am merely a facilitator," he added. "The colors and designs of traditional ethnic attire are not the work of a single designer; they embody the cultural and aesthetic legacy of generations."
