Hitachi to focus on developing the smart building business in China

Hitachi Elevator (China) Co Ltd, a major investment company of Japanese electronics giant Hitachi Ltd, will focus on developing the smart building business in China by accelerating its efforts in digitalization, intelligence and green initiatives, according to a senior company executive.

"We will fully promote the smart building business in China, aiming to establish the company as the core part of Hitachi's global smart building business and continue to expand our exports," said Jia Yuhui, president of Hitachi Elevator (China) Co Ltd.

Numerous new applications in the fields of technology and industrial reform have emerged in China, following a new round of development focusing on green, digital and intelligent solutions, according to Jia.

"We will firmly invest in China and accelerate our efforts in digitalization, intelligence and green initiatives by driving our company's research and development through innovation and technology," said Jia.

Artificial intelligence combined with elevator upgrading will be the company's important development focus in the future, according to Jia.

"We will continue to provide more intelligent and greener elevator solutions for urban renewal and smart building construction in China," said Jia.

An ecosystem that integrates air conditioning, cameras, access control systems and service robots, is currently under construction, aiming to provide comprehensive solutions for smart buildings, communities and cities.

"This initiative will enable seamless integration of various technologies to enhance the overall efficiency, convenience and sustainability of elevator systems in China," said Jia.

The company, based in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, has been operating in China for 30 years, with installation of over 1.5 million escalators and more than 800,000 elevators in operation in China.

The company has also provided comprehensive renovation and upgrading solutions for over 8,200 projects in 142 cities in the Chinese market.
