The BJIFF Core Forums return this year with an upgraded format, bringing together global cinema professionals to discuss the evolving landscape of filmmaking. This prestigious series features four themed forums, five special forums, three open classes, and three master classes, with renowned director Huang Jianxin serving as the Art Advisor.
The four themed forums will cover topics ranging from "IP Development and the Upgrading of the Film Industry", "Creative Paths that Sync with the Times and Resonate with Audiences", "The Application and Innovation of Emerging Technologies in the Film Industrial Chain", and "The Relationship Between Film Distribution, Audiences, Content, and Platforms".
In addition, five special forums will focus on key areas such as film investment and financing, the growth of China's film capital in Huairou, opportunities for young filmmakers, the role of young film critics, and the high-quality development of Chinese cinema.
The forums will also introduce three open classes, each dedicated to a fundamental aspect of cinema—film art, cinematography, and acting. These sessions will feature distinguished speakers, including Huo Tingxiao, Timmy Yip, and Bao Dexi, who will share their experiences and artistic philosophies with aspiring filmmakers.
Adding to the program's prestige, three master classes will be led by acclaimed directors Jiang Wen and Jia Zhangke, along with French cinema icon Isabelle Huppert.
The brilliance of thought and the spark of artistic inspiration alternate and shine throughout the series of events, collectively expressing the heartfelt vision of filmmakers from both China and abroad for the future of cinema.
