Auctioneers, gallerists, scholars and media representatives attended a recent forum in Beijing to review last year's market performance and shared ideas to boost the capital city's cultural scene and art market.
Beijing is the country's major cultural hub and it contributes a large chunk of the consumption of cultural products including gallery artwork sales and auctions throughout the year, but the art market experienced a decrease in deals in previous years. Forum attendees shared analyses of what must be done to regenerate the market through better services, higher industry criteria and deeper cooperation.
