Representatives from the Western Australian government and fellow guests attended a reception in Perth on Jan 25 to celebrate Spring Festival.
Consul General Long Dingbin, representative of the Premier for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Tony Buti, Opposition leader Shane Love and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party Steven Martin delivered speeches at the event.
Long extended Spring Festival greetings to friends from all sectors, pointing out that in 2024, China-Australia ties have returned to the right track, with economic and trade cooperation between the two countries reaching a new level, and cultural exchanges becoming more frequent. He welcomed people from all sectors in Western Australia to seize the opportunity to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation in various fields, jointly promoting the stable and long-term development of China-Australia relations.

Australian guests noted China's development achievements and affirmed the key role of the Chinese community in the multicultural construction of Western Australia. They expressed their hope that the friendly relations between China and Western Australia would continue to flourish.
Over 200 attendees, including officials from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Western Australian government officials, members of the consular corps in Perth, as well as representatives of the Chinese community, Chinese-funded enterprises and international students, participated in the celebration.
