With the approaching Spring Festival holiday, on Jan 25, the State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company organized staff members to conduct a campus electrical safety inspection at Zhejiang Normal University, while also providing thoughtful advice on safe electricity usage for students and faculty members staying on campus during the holiday.
"Do not touch power sources with wet hands; remember to switch off electricity when leaving the dormitory and do not misuse electrical appliances," a company staff member advised the students.
Zhejiang Normal University started its winter break in mid-January. Currently, most students and staff are gradually leaving the campus. However, there are still more than 600 students and support staff choosing to stay on campus for Spring Festival. In addition, international students are looking forward to experiencing an authentic Chinese New Year and the unique Chinese customs in Jinhua.
Collaborating with Zhejiang Normal University, the company prepared to conduct thorough inspections and address any potential risks related to the school's power supply facilities.
The company worked with the school's logistics department to understand the electricity usage demands during the festival and sought the school's suggestions on electricity usage to develop a power protection plan. They arranged staff members to conduct comprehensive inspections of internal transformers, distribution cabinets, power lines and emergency backup power sources, addressing any issues to ensure the safe and stable operation of all electrical facilities.
Furthermore, the company's staff members assisted the school in promoting safety knowledge on electricity usage for the students staying on campus during the Spring Festival holiday. Through distributing brochures, on-site explanations in dormitories and other methods, they conveyed knowledge on electricity usage to every student and faculty member. They provided detailed information ranging from everyday electricity usage tips to solutions to unexpected electrical accidents.
During this Spring Festival outreach activity, the State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company expressed their commitment to intensify patrols around the campus perimeters and power supply equipment. They will conduct real-time monitoring and data analysis, and make every effort to ensure power supply security.
