Global ice, snow tourism campaign launched in Harbin

"Nihao! China"— The China Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season 2025 kicked off on Sunday in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.

The event brought together hundreds of tourism industry professionals, cultural ambassadors and media representatives from around the globe to promote China's high-quality ice and snow tourism resources while establishing Heilongjiang as a hub for the ice and snow economy.

This initiative was organized by the Heilongjiang Department of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the Network of International Culturalink Entities from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

He Jing, the director of the Heilongjiang Department of Culture and Tourism, and Wan Ting, the deputy director of the Network of International Culturalink Entities, delivered keynote speeches discussing the exceptional qualities of China's ice and snow tourism resources and the future growth prospects of this sector.

The event also highlighted the release of The Report on the Powder Snow in Heilongjiang, which is the report of its kind in China. A survey conducted by a team led by Jiang Yihai from the Heilongjiang Ski Association found out that Yabuli Ski Resort and the surrounding Longling area of China Snow Town, are home to pristine powder snow, highly sought after by ski enthusiasts worldwide.

The Heilongjiang tourism authority honored Cambodian Princess Norodom Jeanna with the title of "Heilongjiang Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Ambassador". Additionally, more than 20 individuals, primarily social media influencers, were presented with letters of appointment as the province's overseas tourism ambassadors.

Several cooperation agreements were signed during the event, including two between the Heilongjiang Department of Culture and Tourism and China Southern Airlines and the China Daily website. Another agreement was made between the Canberra Snow Projects Company in Australia and Heilongjiang's Yabuli Mountain Resort, as well as a tourism chartered flight cooperation agreement between Harbin Sightseeing International Travel Service and Thailand Haoayou Travel Agency.

These agreements aimed to enhance the province's ice and snow economy, according to the event organizers.

The 41st China Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival opened on the same day at the Harbin Ice and Snow World.
