Nanfang Media Group officially established its GDToday Think Tank and a Global Bay Area Think Tank Alliance on Wednesday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, aiming to strengthen international communications.
Huang Can, editor-in-chief of Nanfang Media Group, said it is an important measure to build a more effective international communication system and promote the transformation of media think tanks.
"The establishment of the think tank and the alliance will help gather wisdom widely and deepen smart media cooperation to provide international solutions for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangdong province," said Huang.
The think tank and alliance will help the world explore and discover opportunities in China, helping domestic enterprises and Chinese culture to go global, he said.
Guangdong is the largest economy in China and the epitome and leader of the Chinese path to modernization, Huang said.
"Guangdong, where Chinese and Western civilizations intersect, and cultures blend together, is also at the forefront of China's reform and opening up to the outside world, with trade covering the globe," he added.
Zhao Yang, editor-in-chief of GDToday, said the organization is committed to providing accurate and timely news reports in multiple languages to global readers, including English, Portuguese, French and local Cantonese.
GDToday will organize cultural activities to tell the stories of China, the GBA and Guangdong to the outside world to become a bridge connecting China and foreign countries in the following months, he said.
At the inaugural ceremony, the think tank issued certificates to experts and scholars who will contribute their wisdom and experience to developing the think tank.
