The 110 kilovolt substation at the Jinchang Development Zone, Gansu province was completed recently. This provides robust support for the high-quality development of the regional economy, effectively fostering the rapid growth of research-oriented enterprises in Jinchang, particularly in new materials and new technologies.

To facilitate the implementation of key construction tasks for 2024, enhance the multitiered excellence mechanism in power transmission and transformation projects and persistently create top-notch projects, the State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Company has embraced the green construction philosophy, promoting the development of smart grids and consistently elevating the quality and management standards of power grid projects. By integrating scientific and technological innovation with management innovation, the company is dedicated to constructing high-quality, high-standard power grid projects. The 110 kV power transmission and transformation project at the Jinchang Development Zone, situated in the Jinchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Gansu province, stands as a pivotal construction initiative not only for the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company but also for driving local economic progress and catering to the surging demand for electricity in the city.

Since the commencement of the 110 kV power transmission and transformation project at the Jinchang Development Zone, the company has closely adhered to the four key control objectives: safety, quality, progress and environmental protection. High standards and quality implementation was achieved through scientific management and innovative technological applications. During the construction phase of the project, several innovative management measures were implemented. A leading group was established to clarify the division of responsibilities among participating units, fostering a management structure that assigns responsibility to individuals and ensures accountability at different levels. Additionally, the on-site headquarters construction management model was adopted, coordinating resources to ensure clustered, normalized and standardized project management. By implementing grid management, management responsibilities were efficiently assigned, guaranteeing efficient project progression.

The 110 kV power transmission and transformation project at the Jinchang Development Zone incorporates various new technologies and processes. It utilizes advanced three-dimensional designs and Building Information Modeling technology for construction simulation and management, optimizing the construction plan, reducing resource consumption and effectively enhancing construction efficiency and project quality. Simultaneously, the project extensively employs energy-saving and environmentally friendly materials during construction. Reactive power compensation devices with a capacity of 4000 volts have been installed to enhance power quality and system operation efficiency, actively aligning with the national "double carbon" target requirements. The project team also prioritized environmental protection at the construction site, implementing multiple dust and noise reduction measures to achieve energy conservation and consumption reduction during both construction and operation.

The project has been recognized as a regional benchmark site for power transmission and transformation by the State Grid in 2024. The project has become a model in the industry, thanks to its efficient and cohesive project management, green and environmentally friendly construction concept and advanced technology application.
