German software and cloud giant SAP reiterated its commitment to the Chinese market and looks to tap greater opportunities here with its cutting-edge AI-driven cloud solutions, said its top executive at the ongoing China International Import Expo.
Michael Locher-Tjoa, SAP's global vice-president and chief business officer for Greater China, said the Chinese market is one of the "key markets" for SAP, and definitely an important place for the company to beef up presence and grow further.
"Many of our multinational customers are doing business in China and a significant number of them in large scale. It reflects what they expect that the growth from the market would be huge," he said.
According to the senior executive, China has been moving fast in many emerging sectors like new energy over the years and has witnessed rising engineering capabilities from various sectors.
"As multinationals further invest and grow their business here, SAP will help them to have a sustainable business going forward and grow further," he added.
He made the remarks as SAP showcased at the expo how its AI-driven cloud solutions empower enterprises to unlock the potential of data, achieve agile management and enhance business competitiveness.
For instance, the German firm displayed the SAP Innovation Empowerment Center, developed in collaboration with the Jing'an district of Shanghai and the Shibei Hi-Tech Group, to help businesses with training, empowerment, innovation incubation, prototype validation, demand matching and expert guidance.
As a long-term participant of CIIE, he said the expo has been a sound platform to deepen collaboration with governments and enterprises across China.
At the same time, the senior executive emphasized that SAP also sees huge opportunities as more Chinese companies expand their global footprint.
"We have been cooperating closely with many Chinese enterprises in supporting their business models in the foreign markets," he said.
"Looking ahead, SAP will further support the global success of Chinese enterprises through Business AI and cloud solutions," he added.
