On September 18, near the West Zone of the Economic Development Zone in Hanshan county, Ma'anshan city, Anhui province, operators from Ma'anshan Power Supply Company of State Grid Anhui Electric Power Co Ltd were actively advancing the civil construction of the Henglong 110 kV power transmission and transformation project.

The Henglong 110kV power transmission and transformation project commenced in July this year. The project entails the construction of a new 110kV substation, the installation of two transformers with a capacity of 50,000 KVA in this phase, the construction of 16.18 kilometers of 110kV lines, and the erection of 63 towers. It is anticipated to be completed and put into operation before the summer peak season in 2025.

"After the Henglong 110kV power transmission and transformation project is completed and put into operation, it will further enhance the power grid structure, increase the power supply capacity, reliability, and quality in the Hanshan area, meet the power demand of investment attracting enterprises and surrounding areas, and boost local economic development," said Wang Mingliang, the project manager of the project owner.

In recent years, riding the powerful momentum of the Yangtze River Delta's integrated development, the local government has centered its efforts on the transformation and upgrading of the casting industry, fostering scale agglomeration and green, efficient development. It has actively sought to become a "strong magnetic field" deeply integrated into the Yangtze River Delta's integrated development, striving to be the industry's "preferred destination". Numerous enterprises, including Alcody, Best, and Boye, have successively established themselves in the economic development zone of Hanshan county. While deepening the implementation of the "double recruitment and double introduction" policy, they have consistently adhered to the science and innovation support strategy, driving the region towards becoming a high-end science and innovation industry cluster, accompanied by a rapid increase in power load.

In response to the rapidly growing electricity demand in the Hanshan County Economic Development Zone, Ma'anshan Power Supply Company, a subsidiary of State Grid Anhui Electric Power Co Ltd, is deeply committed to the service philosophy of "prioritizing development over electricity rather than vice versa." It strives to align power grid planning with urban and rural planning as well as industrial planning, and aims to establish a power grid project library that is feasible for the near future, has long-term reserves, and can be regularly updated. This approach fosters a rolling development ecosystem, where "one batch is under construction, one batch is ready to commence, one batch is in reserve, and one batch is in planning." This strategy significantly accelerates the pace of power grid construction, propelling it into a fast lane and ushering in significant development.

Urban development starts with electricity. Over the past two years, Ma'anshan Power Supply Company has constructed 21 new and ongoing power grid projects. These projects have increased the substation capacity by 3.78 million KVA and extended 471.08 kilometers of 110 kV and higher voltage lines, marking the largest number and scale in the past decade. This has ensured full coverage of 110 kV and higher voltage substations in major towns and provincial industrial parks. As a result, the power grid's resource allocation and safety capabilities have been significantly enhanced, better meeting the public's demands for a better life. This has also provided ample power support for the upgrading and green transformation of local economies and industries.
