Beijing's Chaoyang district presented its advancements in education, finance and culture at Shougang Park during the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services, which kicked off on Thursday. The presentation focused on innovation and development in these categories.

Wen Xian, Party head of the Chaoyang district, who inspected the sections during the fair on Friday, said Chaoyang should use this event as an opportunity to speed up the growth of cultural activities and industries, blend culture with business and tourism more closely, and enhance the city's development through a stronger "culture plus" strategy.

He explained that by embracing innovation-driven strategies and using the fusion of culture and technology as a new engine, they can create new trends and opportunities in the cultural industry. Additionally, the district should focus on making education more international and open.

The science capsule, a mobile laboratory designed to work around the space limitations at schools, was displayed in the Chaoyang section. The lab allows students to engage in hands-on experiments like DNA extraction, promoting interactive learning experiences. According to the district, this initiative aims to bring practical science experiences directly to students, enhancing their engagement and understanding.

The Chaoyang district also revealed plans for the Beijing High School of Science, set to open in 2026, which will strengthen Chaoyang's focus on science education.

Chaoyang's financial section highlighted its position as a growing hub for international financial institutions.

According to the government, Chaoyang is home to over 1,800 licensed financial firms, including 367 foreign-funded institutions. Exhibits detailed the district's efforts to foster international financial cooperation and optimize its financial ecosystem.

Chaoyang showcased its digital tourism innovations, including the AI-powered "AI Touring Beijing Chaoyang" platform, which offers customized travel experiences.

The district also highlighted cultural landmarks like Panjiayuan Market and related companies such as Pop Mart, showing its growing influence in blending tradition with modern innovation.

Additionally, Chaoyang's AIGC Audiovisual Industry Innovation Center made a significant impact, presenting its cutting-edge achievements in the integration of AI-generated content through advanced hardware and interactive displays.
