There are three days to go before the opening of the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The Chengdu events will take place in 27 competition venues, a combination of brand new structures and existing ones.
Let's take a look at some of the venues, as well as the Universiade Village that the athletes will call home during their stay in Chengdu.
Sichuan Water Sports School

At Sichuan Water Sports School, the size of lanes is 2,230m by 135m, and the water depth is three meters. For rowing, there are two water areas - a competition water area with eight lanes and a separate warm-up water area.
It will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for rowing during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The rowing events will be held from August 4 to 6, with a total of 15 gold medals to be awarded.
Chengdu University Gymnasium

Chengdu University Gymnasium is the competition and warm-up venue for volleyball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. Events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
The gymnasium has one floor of main structure and three floors of local structures. It is 23.5 meters high, covering a floor area of about 9,100 square meters. Its annex is used as a volleyball warm-up venue, with two floors of main structure and three floors of local structures. It is 23.1 meters high, covering a floor area of 6,600 square meters. The distance between the two venues is 37 meters.
Chengdu Shooting Sport School

Chengdu Shooting Sport School has one field of play (FoP) for finals and three FoPs for heats (10 meters, 25 meters and 50 meters).
It will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for shooting events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games, which will be held from July 29 to August 2, with a total of 18 gold medals to be awarded.
Chengbei Gymnasium

Chengbei Gymnasium has a total floor area of over 20,000 square meters.
The gymnasium features a field of play (FoP) measuring 40m by 29m, which includes one Taolu arena and one Sanda arena. It also includes a spacious warm-up area that features two Taolu arenas and two Sanda arenas. The training area features two Taolu arenas and two Sanda arenas.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for Wushu during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The Wushu events will be held from July 29 to August 3, with a total of 20 gold medals to be awarded.
Shuangliu Sports Center Stadium

Shuangliu Sports Center Stadium covers a floor area of 22,900 square meters. It has one field of play for competition and one for warm-up. The competition track and field is equipped with a standard 400-meter track with ten straights and nine turns. On the east side of the stadium is a six-straight six-turn warm-up field.
The stadium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for athletics during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The athletics events will be held from August 1 to 6, with a total of 50 gold medals to be awarded.
Shuangliu Sports Center Gymnasium

Shuangliu Sports Center Gymnasium has a floor area of 14,600 square meters. Two fields of play with 14 badminton courts and a warm-up area are provided. The main field of play measures 45m by 28m, and the net height is 21 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for badminton during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The badminton events will be held from July 30 to August 7, with a total of six gold medals to be awarded.
Qingbaijiang Sports Center Gymnasium

Qingbaijiang Sports Center Gymnasium has a floor area of 11,800 square meters, with one floor of main structure and three floors of local structures. The field of play measures 54m by 34m, and the net height is 29 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for basketball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The basketball events will be held from July 28 to August 6, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
Chengdu Modern Pentathlon Center Swimming and Fencing Hall

Chengdu Modern Pentathlon Center Swimming and Fencing Hall covers a floor area of 24,400 square meters, with four floors on the ground, and one partial floor of the basement. The peak height (roof) is 34.69 meters. The pool measures 50m by 25m and is 2.7 meters deep.
It will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for water polo during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The water polo events will be held from July 27 to August 8, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.
Modern Pentathlon Center Equestrian Arena

Modern Pentathlon Center Equestrian Arena has a floor area of 11,700 square meters, including one field of play for finals, one for qualification and elimination, and one for training.
It will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for archery during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The archery events will be held from July 27 to 31, with a total of 10 gold medals to be awarded.

Pidu Sports Center Gymnasium covers a floor area of 12,900 square meters. Nine competition pistes and one warm-up area with four pistes are provided. The field of play measures 47m by 40m and its net height is 15 meters.
The gymnasium will serve as a competition venue for fencing during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The fencing events will be held from August 2 to 7, with a total of 12 gold medals to be awarded.
Pidu Sports Center Natatorium

Pidu Sports Center Natatorium covers an area of 1,800 square meters. One field of play with ten competition pistes is provided, measuring 63m by 43m.
The natatorium will serve as a competition venue for fencing during the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. The fencing events will be held from August 2 to 7, with a total of 12 gold medals to be awarded.
Chengdu Universiade Village

Located in the campus of Chengdu University, the Chengdu Universiade Village covers a floor area of 800,000 square meters, and a construction area of 660,000 square meters. The Village has 10 apartments, two athletes canteens, a medical center and a fitness center.
The Village opens on July 22. During the Chengdu Universiade, various cultural activities will be held in the Village, including paper cutting, Shu brocade, shadow puppetry and facial makeup.
