HARBIN -- The Heihe port in the city of Heihe in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province saw its foreign trade up 131.9 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2022, local authorities said.
The import and export volume handled through the port totaled 12.53 billion yuan ($1.74 billion) during the period, Heihe Customs said.
The customs authority saw the total cargo volume reach about 9.18 million tonnes from January to September in 2022, up 59.5 percent year-on-year. It also witnessed 776 inbound and outbound ships, an increase of 128.2 percent year-on-year, and 3,273 inbound and outbound vehicles, an increase of 897.9 percent during the period.
Located on the China-Russia border, Heihe is only 100 meters from Blagoveshchensk, capital of the Amur region in the Russian Far East.
