我们身边总有这么一群热衷“抬杠”的人，无论你说什么，他们都能跟你“杠（argue）”，似乎他们的使命就是给别人添堵（vex， make you feel annoyed）。
“抬杠”，原指用杠子穿过吊环将物体抬起，也叫“抬杠子”。不过现在更常用来比喻“做无谓地争辩、为了争论而争论（argue for the sake of arguing）”。
如：A说了一个合情合理的观点（reasonable view），而B明知A说的有道理，但就是不接受，非得找出很多歪理（preposterous excuse）与其争吵，这就是“抬杠”。
网友将这类热衷“抬杠”的人称为“杠精（gàng jīng，contrarian）”。
