On Tuesday, during an exclusive interview with China Daily, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, who was in China to attend the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, said there has been a worrying trend of regression globally in such aspects as women's rights, gender equality and reproductive rights. Against this backdrop, China firmly supports gender equality and puts forward positive initiatives, demonstrating a strong sense of international responsibility, she noted.
