The 2025 Chengdu World Games welcomed its first group of athletes and officials to the city on Sunday morning as the Singaporean floorball team arrived at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in the capital of Sichuan province.
The team of 14 athletes and four officials, who will play their first game on Wednesday, passed smoothly through dedicated games customs and immigration inspection channels.
"I'm excited about the upcoming event. There's some pressure for me, but what matters most is the athletes enjoying the game," said team coach Tan Yi Ru.

Ou Yusong, deputy executive director of the arrival and departure center for the Chengdu World Games, said the event's official arrival and departure services, which became fully operational on Sunday, will remain open until Aug 18.

The official arrival and departure points are Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Chengdu East Railway Station, all staffed with service specialists proficient in English, Ou said.
The arrival and departure center has also coordinated with customs and immigration inspection authorities, as well as airports and airlines, to streamline entry and exit procedures for all participants, he added.
The 2025 Chengdu World Games, the highest-level international multisport event outside the Olympic Games, will run from Aug 7 to 17. It is the first time the games have been hosted on the Chinese mainland.
