Thirty-two agricultural projects, with a combined investment of nearly 6 billion yuan ($827 million), were signed on Wednesday during a global investment promotion conference for the Guangzhou (Nansha) Agricultural Opening-up and Cooperation Pilot Zone.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recognized Nansha of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, as a pilot zone for agricultural opening-up and cooperation in late 2023.

According to the event’s organizers, the projects cover smart agriculture, agriculture and cultural tourism integration, technological innovation, aquaculture and the seed industry. The projects will help inject a strong momentum into Nansha’s modern agricultural industry and help enhance its level of agricultural openness to the outside world. Some of the projects are international cooperative agreements.

The conference promoted the comprehensive and full-chain development of agriculture in Nasha, focusing on precise investment promotion in agricultural technological innovation, agricultural machinery and equipment integration, agricultural digital economy, smart and green agricultural development, and agriculture with cultural tourism integration.
