Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport shortened cut-off time for domestic flights to less than 35 minutes from 45 minutes effective Friday, in an attempt to further enhance passengers' traveling experience, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
The cut-off time is the last moment passengers can check-in and check their luggage for a particular flight.
Adopting measures including unified operating standards and digital applications, the airport managed to make this optimization, which is hoped to better serve passengers during the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush which starts on Jan 14 and lasts until Feb 22, said the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
The new cut-off time refers to 35 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure. The set of flight cut-off time ensures that airports and airlines have sufficient time to complete more than 10 tasks before flight take-off and to ensure the safety and punctuality of the flight.
