A record 1.35 trillion yuan ($185 billion) of investment has been made into building management facilities for water resources across the country this year, marking the third straight year that saw the investment exceed 1 trillion yuan.
The investment brought about 47,000 projects through the year, according to Chen Min, vice-minister of water resources in a news conference organized by the State Council Information Office on Tuesday.
Stressing the role of such investment in stabilizing economic growth and promoting employment, he said over 3 million people were employed in these projects.
According to the ministry, the investment accomplished in constructing water resources management projects across the country stood at almost 1.1 trillion yuan and 1.2 trillion yuan in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
