Known as "Jade Bird Cup", the First Overseas Chinese Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully concluded in Hangzhou very recently.
The event has attracted over 100 enterprises from six sectors including artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, healthcare, energy, and new materials. Totally 18 teams made it to the finals. After fierce competition , the Project "Innovative Solution for Long Endurance Multi-Functional Joined-Wing Unmanned Aircraft for Battlefield Investigation and Short Distance Material Transfer" won the first prize. Projects named "New Generation AIOT Technology Service Provider" and "New Generation TCRT New Drug Research and Development for Anti-solid Tumor" won the second and third prizes respectively.
Talents are crucial for future innovation and development of a city. Hangzhou is striving to promote the construction of "the Best City for Overseas Chinese Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Preferred Place for Global Overseas Chinese Youth Settlement". As a new urban center of Hangzhou, Yuhang District has made great progress in attracting talents and innovative projects through organizing the competition.
To date, four candidate projects have successfully registered, with three more showing strong intentions to settle in the district of Hangzhou. For the projects qualified for settling down, Yuhang District will offer a comprehensive preferential policy package, including R&D subsidy, workplace allowance and financing support. Yuhang also set up the Hangzhou New Generation Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center, to better serve and support start-up business by young talents from home and abroad.
