A total of 33 females made it on the New Fortune Chinese Rich Females 2021, with an overall wealth of 1.21 trillion yuan ($187.10 billion), said the New Fortune on Sunday.

Their total wealth was up 74 percent from 692.49 billion yuan of 2020. The average wealth recorded was 36.5 billion yuan, up 42 percent from 25.65 billion yuan in 2020.

Compared with rich males who tend to rake wealth in industries such as telecommunications, media, and technology as well as machinery or chemical engineering, rich females focus more on medical and biological industries. Many of them have a background of medical biology or chemistry.
