The first Smurfs Theme Park in China has been operating in Shanghai for a month. Located in Songjiang district, the 20,000 square-meter indoor park mimics the storyline from the the Smurfs cartoon and has about 40 recreational facilities.

According to International Merchandising, Promotion & Services, the worldwide licensor of the Smurfs cartoon image and brand, there are only three Smurfs theme parks in the world; the other two are in Moscow and Dubai.
